SMNetserv Volunteer Group is called GRASSROOTS. Its a group of young and dynamic IT professionals from SM Netserv who volunteer their free time towards causes that are close to their hearts.
Grass Roots’ focuses on Education and provide help to needy children. We are closely associated with a few organisations where we have started working with them in a small way.
Our activities are targeted at underpriviledged children and making a difference in their lives in a small way.
We believe that education is the key to unlock the potential of children . The team works on many projects where volunteers teach children (age of 12-16 years) computers so that they can vocationally trained for data entry and other basic computer functionality. We spend quality time with the children by playing with them, teaching some moral values and basics of computer, and reading to them. The group also raised funds during the beginning of academic year and donates school books and stationery to NGO working with children in schools. We are associated with the Dream school foundation and courtesy foundation which are doing a commendable job.
Team also runs a portal Showyoucare through which is a bridge that will bring donors and charity organisation and NGO's in contact with each other. Donors/Volunteers can list the items that they wish to donate. At the same time Charity Organisation can inform Donors of their needs.
Volunteers don't necessarily have the time, but they have the heart. At last volunteers are paid in six figures...
