As the name suggests, this method is a collaborative effort of the client and team members. The team collaboration method makes use of Basecamp- an online project management tool. Basecamp allows the user remain up-to-date on the progress of a project. It also increases the amount of control one can exercise on the progress of software development.
Process
Create New Projects
The project leader makes use of the Basecamp tool to create new projects. The project leader then assigns the permission of usage to the team members and client in the written form or by reading. Basecamp is used for all communication within the team and between the client and the team.
Manage projects
The project leader publishes the latest documents for review by team members and the client. Each team member is assigned his/her work in the form of a ‘to do’ list. The milestones of progress are published for the team to view and get updated. The write boards are used for client clarifications and project discussions. Interactive team discussions are carried out using the message boards.
Usage
Basecamp is an effective means of sharing information. Its main advantage is that all changes or discussions can be captured and tracked at a single location. It is very helpful to the client as it allows them to view all important project documents and participate in project discussions. Clients can also know the status of the project by viewing the milestones of progress. |
